Frequently Asked Questions and Instructions
About WhoBook
- WhoBook is free.
- WhoBook was built entirely with the Highrise API. It is not a product of 37Signals.
- For now, WhoBook is read-only - you cannot add contacts from your phone
- I don't share the information you give when you signup. Your email address will only be used to let you know of updates to WhoBook, and your phone number is only used so we can identify you when you text WhoBook.
- WhoBook was previously known as Highrise MOBI and located at highrisehq.mobi
Using Text Message (SMS) Access to WhoBook
- Send a text message to 41411 in the following format: "WHOBOOK query" where "query" is the name of the person or company you wish to search for.
- You can also send the message "WHOBOOK tasks" to receive a list of your upcoming tasks. Keep in mind this message is limited to 160 characters.
- The first time you use SMS access, you'll receive a notification that you've subscribed to WHOBOOK. This is normal, and you will not be charged anything, nor will you receive text messages unless you have specifically performed a search.
- Text message access is provided by using service from TextMarks, so if you see reference to them, that's why.
What to do if WhoBook isn't working for you
- Login to your account on this website.
- Go to the "My account" link at the top right.
- Double check that your "Highrise Login URL" is correct, and that the SSL setting is correct for your Highrise account.
- Re-paste your authentication key to ensure it is correct.
- If things still aren't working, send an email to feedback@whobook.mobi with your WhoBook username, describing the error you received.
